Design Idea
The library lounge located in Room 1206 completes the cultural and leisure offer of the Museum.
The library lounge is also an exhibition hall for GuWei Museum collections. It mainly exhibits porcelain from the 1950s to the 1980s in modern China. The walls are decorated with fabrics, calligraphy and paintings from the Ming and Qing Dynasties, etc. The founders hope to bring visitors a leisurely, comfortable and artistic environment. Thousands of Chinese and foreign cultural books are on the bookshelves, immersing visitors in a sea of art books and rare publications they can look at. The library lounge also has a seminar room where seminars and educational activities are regularly organised.
On weekdays, Museum visitors (per capita minimum spending of HK$100) enjoy complimentary access to the library lounge for up to two hours and with self-served coffee and tea. On weekends, educational activities and seminars will take place in the area.
