This week we had visitors from all Hong Kong, including Sha Tin and Tuen Mun districts, and start welcoming groups for guided tours.
Parents and children who joined the museum visit experienced art activities matching the theme of the “Dragon and Phoenix Offer Auspiciousness” special opening exhibition and got together for a storytelling on the “Travels of Marco Polo” before trying the VR experience recalling his journey from Venice to China.
On Saturday, the “GuWei Cultural Fun” class focused on the Dragon and Phoenix. Students watched the cartoon animation video accompanying the “Dragon and Phoenix Offer Auspiciousness” exhibition and appreciated few key exhibits carrying dragon and phoenix patterns. Their learning included drawing and language activity on Chinese proverbs.
The didactical programmes at the GuWei Museum encourage art and culture appreciation, and aim at training children on how to “read” art during a visit at museums.
We look forward to welcoming you. Walk-in anytime or pre-book your visit if you wish to come in a larger group.
Best regards,
GuWei Museum
